Is there hope for the broken?

I just recently read this article and it really bothered me. Whatever your stance is on immigration and the illegal workforce, this is really sad. Why not just back-tax him and send him on his way? A little compassion and care would be nice.

The very thing he was doing with this money is one of the biggest problems (IMO) with illegal immigrants. A lot of them make all kinds of cash (literally) and send it back to their home country, instead of sewing it back into our economy. This hurts our economy greatly.

I don't necessarily agree that the government should take all his money, but we can't let a couple sad stories stop us from enforcing the laws in this country. If we judged every case on these emotions we would have complete chaos.

Yeah this is a tough one and I definitely feel for the guy. My sense of humanity says just work out a deal with the guy to make everyone happy but if you do it this time you will be pushed and expected to do it again and again.

yea, I agree. Like bone said, it's hard to not see through the whole compassion/feeling bad for the guy. But overall, it's his mistake. I don't get why he didn't take the offer of 19k.
